Critical Incident Videos

The Sonoma State University Police Department is committed to transparency and maintaining public trust. In alignment with California law and CSU policy, SSUPD may release video recordings related to critical incidents involving our personnel.

These videos are released to provide the community with timely, factual information following significant law enforcement events.

SSUPD will make reasonable efforts to release video as soon as practical, consistent with California law.

In general:

• Video may be released within 45 days of the incident
• Delays may occur if release would interfere with:
  • Active criminal investigations
  • Administrative reviews
  • Prosecutorial processes

If a delay is necessary, SSUPD will provide a general explanation when possible.
