Safe Team

Video file:

In 2021, the SAFE team was launched as a way to increase resources for both our community and our departments. Currently, the South County SAFE team serves Rohnert Park, Cotati, and Petaluma in partnership with Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety, Sonoma State University Police Department, Cotati Police Department, and Petaluma Police Department. SAFE team members respond to a variety of calls and coordinate with law enforcement to ensure that the SAFE team focuses on 3 main services to the community:

1. Emergency response for community members in crisis related to mental health, substance abuse/addiction, and homelessness.
2. Non-emergency response for community members in need.
3. Proactive community outreach, support, and resource referrals.

Fun Facts:
-The team is currently working 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
-Since its inception, the South County SAFE team has responded to over 10,000 calls for service.
-Services are available in both English and Spanish.
