Chief of Police

The Chief of Police at Sonoma State University is responsible for the overall operation of the Department.  They coordinate with the Vice-President of Administration and Finance to ensure all members of the University Police Department conduct themselves ethically, with the highest professional standards.  It is the Chief's responsibility to ensure all University Police employees receive on-going training to comply with, and exceed, legal mandates as well as ensuring policies and procedures comply with the law and best practices.  The Chief sets the tone for the organization with a service-focused emphasis and an understanding of the unique role of law enforcement in an educational environment. Police Lieutenant

The Lieutenant oversees the supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, training, promotion, enforcement of internal procedures, problem resolution, evaluates employee performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions, motivates employees to work as a team to achieve optimal performance. The Lieutenant represents the organization at various community and/or business meetings, committees and promotes existing, and new programs and policies. Police Administration

The Administrative Analyst provides essential day-to-day administrative and customer service support for the Police Department front office and non-emergency phone lines. They serve as a resource for faculty, staff, students, and the department on complex matters of policy, procedure, and practice for a wide variety of administrative tasks.

The Administrative Support Coordinator provides administrative and customer service functions on an as-needed basis, and serves as the public contact for the University Police Department front office lobby and non-emergency phone lines.
